Match Fishing - Seniors
The match calenders for 2020 can be opened using the link in the side bar.
Once again we will have a pre-season warm up match at Bradshaw Hall Fisheries on Lake 4. This will be held on Sunday, 29th March. Draw at 9am.
All members are welcome to fish the matches. The matches are not taken too seriously and take place in a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of banter and fun!!
The first match of the season is the Work Party Trophy. Although the match is open to all members, only those who have attended a work party can actually win the trophy and acquire points for the league. Work party dates will be announced in the near future in the News section.
Again we have six away matches planned in 2020 at some fantastic venues, all within an hours drive away. To book on a match please contact the Senior Match Secretary - Eddy Hegarty. Book on early to avoid disappointment!
Firstly we have the G.A. Electrical Trophy at the Fir Tree Fishery. This time though we are on Nooky Hollow which is a snake lake. It is a mixed fishery but with the main target being carp and F1's.
We then have Lake 3 at Bradshaws, which we have been to for several years now.
Next up we have Lake 4 at Bradshaws which we are familiar with from last few years.
A return to Partridge Lakes for our 4th Match on Ribbon. Again we have fished this lake before and F1's are the main target.
For our final match of the summer league and the last match of the season we will go to Wrightington Fishery on Rivington View Lake.
For the second time we are introducing an away match for the winter league. This will be held on Bradshaws on Lake 3 again which we are familiar with from last year.
Again, please book on this with Eddy to secure your place.
More information on these venues can be found using the links in the side bar.
Once again we have arranged a ’home and away’ challenge match against Rochdale Walton Angling Society for 2020. These matches will take place at Healey Dell on the 5th July and Lane Head on the 13th September. The top 8 anglers on points in the Championship just prior to the match will qualify to fish. Also we have arranged a similar match against Todmorden. The first one at Lane Head on the 14th June and the second leg on the 16th of August on Croft. This team to be determined by the Match Secretary.
