Rules - Society Waters

RULES GOVERNING SOCIETY WATERS

Members must at all times be in possession of membership and current year card, and must produce them on request of any other club member.
Each member to act as bailiff.
Each member to co-operate fully with owners of waters and abide completely with any restriction or direction made by such owners.
No litter to be left at the water-side, whether or not it is litter deposited by yourself.
There must be no interference with bankings, fencing, sluices, or valves.
All gates and barriers must be closed during and after fishing!
Please refrain from using foul language while fishing society waters.
All members must be in possession of a disgorger and landing-net while fishing.
All nets to comply with Environment Agency Regulations.
Junior members under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
No fish to be removed from society waters without permission of the committee.
No member to fish within eight yards of another except where permanent pegs are fixed.
Bloodworm and joker are banned on all society waters.
No member must take any person fishing with them who does not hold a current valid membership card.
BARBLESS HOOKS ONLY PERMITTED ON ALL SOCIETY WATERS!
NO FISHING BELOW ELECTRIC POWER LINES! (DURY LANE & LANE HEAD)
SUBSCRIPTIONS ARE DUE ON 1ST JANUARY EACH YEAR AND MUST BE PAID BY THE A.G.M.

WHITWORTH VALLEY A.S. WATERS:

DURY LANE - (fishing allowed dawn ‘till dusk) (tench, bream, roach, perch, gudgeon, carp)
From Rochdale take the A671 towards Bacup. Travel through Whitworth to Shawforth. As you climb the hill leading up to Britannia you will see a Mercedes garage on your right. Turn right immediately before the garage and follow the lane up behind the property with the white conservatory. Keep on along the top then turn into the grounds of the first property you come to (on your left). Park along side of wall on the right. Walk in front of house, through the gate and across the field to water.

BROADLEY WOOD- (fishing allowed 24 hours) (roach, carp, bream, perch, tench)
From Rochdale, take the A671 towards Whitworth, through Healey Corner, then turn left into Station Road. Keep left at the bottom onto the tarmac road . The road leads left and up the cobbled lane. Park on the top car park.

BIRCH HILL- (fishing allowed dawn ‘till dusk) (roach, perch, bream, rudd, chub, carp)
From Rochdale take the A58 towards Littleborough,continue past hospital,then turn left up Clay Street (opp.Old Stubley Hall).At the top,turn left into Starring Lane ,then right up the farm track.Keep left at the fork then through the gate up to the car park.(KEY REQUIRED FOR GATE)

LANE HEAD COMPLEX
Fishing is allowed from 6.30 a.m. - 10 p.m.(April - September) and from 6.30 a.m. - 8.00 p.m. (October~March). Parking is STRICTLY limited to the car park next to the main lake. Any member found fishing outside the specified times or parked anywhere other than on the main car park will lose their membership immediately!

(MAIN LAKE) – (roach, perch, orfe, ide, crucian, rudd, bream, chub, tench, ruffe, carp, barbel.)
From Rochdale take the A680 along Spotland road and carry on past the Black Dog pub, right to the top of Rooley Moor road (via Ings Lane). Turn right just before the cattle grid down Smallshaw Road. At the farm-yard at the bottom turn right up the ramp, through the gate onto the car park.

(SPECIMEN LAKE) – (carp, roach, perch, tench, rudd, chub.) NO KEEP-NETS ALLOWED ON THIS LAKE.
Park on main car-park, walk back down towards the farmyard and up the ramp opposite into the field with the portacabin. The water is situated at the top of the steps adjacent to the cabin.

(RIVER ROCHE) – (chub, trout, roach, dace.)
Stretch at the rear of the old ‘Moon Furniture’ building down to the footbridge next to ‘Brookside Garage’, Bridgefield Street, Rochdale. Parking adjacent to the footbridge or on the spare ground at the side of the old factory.
